High Density Polyethylene
Product Summary
HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) film is a variant of the polyethylene product family and is known to be both more linear, stiff, and crystalline than other polyethylene materials. PolymerFilms offers a full line of HDPE film products from world-leading producers like Primex Plastics and Rochling Industrial (PE2PRINT®). It is a cost-effective option that is most often produced with a white, matte look but can be offered in various colors and different finishes.
HDPE film differs from LDPE by providing more flexibility, strength, and rigidness; its other properties include good chemical resistance, good release properties, good vapor barriers, and good weathering properties. Additionally, it’s got excellent impact strength and corrosion resistance. Due to its higher crystallinity, HDPE film material also sees better creep resistance. HDPE is easy to process and can be blended with other polymers and/or additives. These unique material properties make HDPE film most suitable for applications in the Food and Beverage, and Packaging industries.
HDPE is well suited for applications that may require greater tensile and compression strength and higher stiffness/rigidity. Due to its low odor and high chemical resistance, HDPE grades are well suited for applications that may require FDA approval. Common uses for HDPE film include bags, liners, food & non-food packaging, agriculture, construction, point of purchase displays, and more.
